Spyros Antonelos


Spyros Antonelos is registered with the Athens Bar and combines experience in legal consultancy, as well as in court litigation, in the areas of Civil Law (contract law, family law, real estate transactions and litigation, lease contracts, landlord and tenant litigation), Commercial Law (company and branch constitutions, commercial agreements, leasing, trademark registration and protection) as well as Banking Law (consumer credit financial products, G.T.C., Consumer and Sensitive Data Protection). He is a CIArb Accredited Mediator and CIArb Member since January 2009.

Working languages: English, French and Greek.

Working Experience

He has worked in various legal departments and lawfirms in France (Esys Montenay Company), in Belgium (European Commission Internal Market Directorate General), in Scotland (Maclay Murray and Spens lawfirm) and in Greece (AXON Studies Technical Company, Κ.Alexiou and Associates Lawfirm, EFG Eurobank Ergasias S.A. Legal Department). As an accredited Mediator for Civil and Commercial disputes, he has co-mediated in civil and commercial mediations held abroad.

He has taught French Law to the students of the Greek antenna of the Audiovisual Centre for Law Studies (CAVEJ) of the French Universities Paris Ι - Panthéon Sorbonne and Paris ΧΙΙΙ - Paris Nord.

He has represented in Greece the European Lawyers Association (http://www.european-lawyers.org/) from 2007 to 2011 and is a member of the Hellenic Mediators Association.

Education / Training programmes

Spyros acquired the qualification of Mediators Assessor after attending CEDR’s “Train the Trainers Programme” held in Athens in 2010 by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution.

He has successfully completed the European Young Lawyers Scheme 2003 Programme, combining the theoretical study of various areas of the U.K. Law (at the University of Edinburgh) and a practical training in Scottish Lawfirms, on a British Council scholarship.

He also holds a French Law Degree (Hons.) and LLM in E.U. Competition and Freedom of Movement Law (Paris II - Panthéon - Assas University).

He has attended numerous training seminars and conferences, in Greece and abroad, on Mediation in Civil and Commercial disputes. Spyros organizes and presents since June 2011the Athens Bar’s Seminars on “Introduction to Mediation for Lawyers”, which are a big success and have also been presented to various Bar Associations and Chambers of Commerce around Greece (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iut3MhTBHPY). Speaker at the UIA’s (Union Internationale des Avocats) international conference on cross border Mediation held in Athens (March 2011).
